Has anyone finished Christmas shopping yet.....or STARTED Christmas shopping yet? Lol. I have a lot of Christmas shopping already done, but I'm still going to do Black Friday this year, don't really want to all that much though but DSS really wants me to go with him. I already did all my shopping for my husband which was a relief because I think he is kind of hard to shop for! Also got almost everything for my parents except I want to get my mom some jewelry I just don't know what yet and my dad has been wanting new golf clubs for a while but my husband went to pick them out last weekend so I think we are done with my parents except for the jewelry for my mom. I have not bought even one thing for the kids yet. I want to get a couple of the Wellie Wishers dolls for my daughter. She plays with my old American girl dolls and has a couple of her own but the wellies are so cute. My stepson went with me to the duke energy convention center holiday market thing on the 13th and bought like fifteen American girl outfits for her, they had handmade ones that were Frozen themed, and miniature Girl Scout ones, cute things like that. I did some shopping at the holiday market for relatives and co-workers of my husbands but didn't get anything for my kids. Stepson really wants to do the whole Black Friday thing because we have done that several years now together and he gets really into shopping and we like shopping together so I'm gonna go even though I don't really want to. We always end up just buying things for ourselves instead of getting our gift list done lol. I'm going to get him a new iPad. And clothes. His main thing has always been clothes, clothes, clothes- You'd think he really was my kid, lol. Also I want to get my daughter something bigger like a bike or a play house or something but I'm not sure what yet. My husband says the toys are enough and she doesn't need a big ticket item. He is probably right and I'm not going to get something big for her unless I find an amazing deal and he is ok with it. I feel like we have been doing more and more each year and we are doing too much. I feel like we should focus on experiences more rather than gifts, what I'd really like to do next year is get maybe a couple smaller gifts for the kids but do like a family trip or something like that instead of all the presents.....A trip would be more meaningful. How is everyone's holiday shopping going and has anyone here ever cut out the gifts and done a trip/experience instead?
