I'm debating a one or two night stopover in Orlando on my way home. I'd fly in early in the morning, stay one night and leave mid-afternoon. I wanted to do Universal, but I feel like it's not enough time, and I really don't want to deal with my own luggage. I'd stay at an All-Star, because, luggage. Is one better than the other? They're all the same price.
I'll probably have a two day non-hopper. I've been to MK and Epcot before. My departure day I'd go to AK, I hear that's a half day park. For my 3/4 of arrival day, is it worth going to HS? Is there anything there besides food right now? I would be interesting in going to Hollywood Brown Derby to compare it to the original, but not going at all is not a deal breaker for me. I guess I could go to Epcot, but eh, I don't remember it as being a must do again for me. I go to DLR about once per week, so I have no desire to do MK when all I'd really be going for is BOG and 7DMT.
I should mention that one of the days will very likely be Easter. Even if I manage a second night, which is not out of the realm of possibility right now, Easter will be one of the days. I would still do a two day ticket, I would just leave earlier to go home. I'm also trying to get a one day hopper from a CM friend, so if that happens, not sure if I'd pay for the additional day. In that case, I guess I could do AK and another park in the same day and not sure if I'd pay for a one day ticket or not.
My other stopover option was going to be Puerto Rico, but everything will be closed on Easter, and right now Orlando is actually cheaper, and I can go directly home instead of connecting again, which I'd have to do from PR.
Something else I'm kicking around. Does anyone have any experience shipping their luggage? I could easily ship one or both of my bags home. If I stop I'd have to pay to recheck the bags anyway, so if it's not too much more, I'd just as soon send my stuff home, because I won't even need it, even if I get home before my bags. Actually, I'll be leaving again in less than a week and the only things I'll really need are a couple of bras and underwear to wash and a pair of jeans. Everything else I'd take is already at home.
